"In line with Curas Infection Prevention strategy and portfolio management, Curas is introducing a new range of specifically designed and conveniently packed Hygiene Control Bags™. The new bags are available in three sizes (Small, Medium and Large) and are distributed to the patient care facilities in 50-pcs WardPak™ by Curas® packaging solution.

Whilst there are plenty of areas of use for the Hygiene Control Bag™ we like to highlight the convenient use the bedside toileting tasks involving a strong and patient-friendly reusable bedpan support unit together with the hygienic disposable top (patient contact) disposable bedpan liner. Using the new bag means that the base support unit will be shielded and thus protected for any unwanted contamination i.e. allowing risk-free reuse of the base support unit.

And after use, the Hygiene Control Bag™ is subsequently used as a protection & waste bag for the used bedpan liner, thus avoiding any waste of the bag and no extra cost or consumption. All in all, a very user-friendly and economically balanced product solution by Curas."

As hospitals, nursing homes and clinics struggle with nosocomial risks and costs of reprocessing wash bowls and basins; Curas once again moves the market forward by a brand new concept, as explained by Janice Lim, General Manager:

“In too many hospitals the choice between a clean & safe, or potentially dirty and risky patient bed bath procedure is – in reality – a matter of selecting between wet wipes or the use of water. We have decided to change this narrative and are now providing our brand new REF 08027 3L Bowl w/Hygiene Control Bag. The product is made up by an inexpensive core 3L bowl [produced by recycled paper material] and an outside PE bag made of virgin grade, very thin but strong and medically clean surface protection. The Hygiene Control Bag serves a dual purpose; first of all it provides a clean & disposable surface for the water & wipes/wash-gloves, but – and this is the innovative bit – it also provides the nurse the opportunity to use the cover bag as a closed-off and sealed waste bag, in which he/she can maintain and remove the contaminated wash / waste water, including the used wipes etc. We are certain this product will prove very popular and useful in both normal as well as high-risk patient situations.”

The 3L bowl product can also be applied in alternative settings e.g. in commode situations or in cases where patients require a large capacity vomit bowl or similarly.

The product is available by Curas Logistics in its central hub in Belgium.
