Earlier in 2009 Curas managed to achieve a near 40% reduction in the overall energy consumption of its administrative head office in Penang, Malaysia, mainly by taking steps to improve the efficiency of the air conditioning systems.

The latest development in the commitment to reduce the overall greenhouse emissions; came by a successful transfer from truck to rail, for its container traffic between Hamburg’s major container terminal and Curas’ two national distribution partners’ warehouses in Germany (near Stuttgart) and Austria (near Vienna). By using the cargo rail option; Curas achieves a significant reduction in the emission of CO2 as well as other diesel particles.
